FAQ
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions we recieve at the Pre-School:
Q: What are the session times? A: Pre-School is open weekdays from 9.30 - 12.00 (12.00-12.30 Lunch club - extra charge payable). Term Time only.
Q: What are the fees for each session?
A: Pre-School charges £7.00 per session payable within 28 days of being invoiced. There is a small one off adminstration charge when your child joins.
Q: What should my child wear to Pre-School? A: Play is sometimes messy so we advise that "best" clothes are not worn. Your child will be provided with a Pre-School sweatshirt with the logo on. Also belts buckles and braces like those on dungarees are difficult to undo when in a rush for the toilet. Welly boots and waterproof coat in Autumn/Spring terms.
Q: What is suitable footwear? A: We often take walks in the park so it is best that your child wears sturdy shoes, not flip flops or crocs. If you child insists on delicate or inappropriate footwear please bring wellies or proper shoes in a labeled bag so they can change into them.
Q: What is the admissions policy? A: We welcome every family in the community. Admission is based on date of birth. Cudworth Pre-School takes children from the age of 2 years 6 months.
Q: Can my child attend every session?
A: The number of sessions your child can attend depends on the number of children already in attendence. Strict rules are implemented by OFSTED as to the adult to child ratio. Prior to the age of 3 years children can only attend on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Q: My child is not potty trained can she/he still join? A: The Pre-School does have limited facilities for nappy changing. However you will need to provide nappies, wipes and bags for our use.
Q: I am worried about my child becoming upset if I leave them at Pre-School. What should I do? A: On the start date you can leave your child or you can build up to the separation leaving him/her for only part of the session. Your child may bring a cuddly toy or book in the early stages as a comforter.
Q: Will my child be safe at Pre-School?
A: Yes. The outside doors to the Church Hall are kept locked during the session times. We will not allow your child to leave with an unathorised person. Your child must be signed in and out of the attendance book. We have a fire drill practice.
Q: How is inappropriate behaviour managed?
A: At Pre-School positive behaviour is always praised. In the case of unwanted behaviour, the feelings of all children will be dealt with in a gentle and caring way. Physical punishment will never be used.

A: If your child is poorly please do not bring them to Pre-School. Please telephone 07769571572 and let us know. In the case of sickness and/or diarrhoea please do not return until after 24/48 hours without symptoms. A detailed illness exclusion policy is available upon request.
